2026 "3·20 SEU Cares" Community Mental Health Education Activities Warmly Concludes

Around March 20, 2026, the "3·20 SEU Cares" Community Mental Health Education Activities were carried out simultaneously across six campuses—Jiulonghu, Sipailou, Dingjiaqiao, Jiangbei, Suzhou, and Wuxi. The activities were organized by the Mental Health Education Center of Southeast University and hosted by 36departments or student organizations. The event focused on the theme of "bringing mental health education to communities." There were 17 themed student community hubs and offered over 70 immersive activities. These formed a comprehensive, multi-layered support network for mental health.Through educational outreach, interactive games, and creative workshops, students were guided to recognize their emotions in a relaxed setting. They also learned to practice self-care through peer connections. The event attracted about 5,000 student participants.

On-Site Counseling for Heartfelt Support

At the “Warmth and Peace of Mind Stations” set up at every locations, counselors from the Mental Health Education Center of Southeast University were quietly available. They had face-to-face conversations with students. From helping students quickly recognize their emotional states to teaching practical self-regulation techniques, warm support was always here. This service model—offering immediate response and care up close—seamlessly integrated professional psychological support into daily life, becoming a reassuring presence for students.

Fun Stress-Relief Games

The event featured a variety of engaging stress-relief games, including pitch-pot, charades, balloon stomping, bubble blowing, and mood sticky notes. Students picked up colorful pens to draw and write about their feelings on sticky notes. They stomped on balloons and let their stress out with each pop. Through the fun of charades, they used lively gestures to break down barriers between one another. Everyone let fatiguego through teamwork, felt support from peers through interaction, and built trust and understanding along the way.

Hands-On Healing Crafts for Inner Peace

This mental health activity put the key to stress relief in students’ hands. In the Perler beads area, everyone focused quietly, arranging colorful beads into patterns of their own design, finding calm through concentration. At the wax seal station, melted wax created a vintage feel, and each press was like a gentle conversation with oneself. The sachet-making area was the liveliest, with the soothing scents of lavender and wormwood lingering at their fingertips, as every stitch reflected a love for life. The coaster DIY session allowed for free creation, with colorful mosaics forming unique scenes. There was no dull lecturing—only the joy of being fully engaged. One student smiled and said, “When I was doing crafts, I forgot all my worries.” This is perhaps the charm of art therapy: quietly opening the heart through the act of creation, letting the sunshine in.

During the event, we collected feedback from students. 233 valid responses were gathered. The data showed that more than 90% of students reported achieving physical and mental relaxation through the activities. More than 40% said they gained knowledge and skills related to mental health, while over 30% said they experienced new insights and growth in areas such as self-awareness and interpersonal interaction. This truly reflected the achievement of both “healing” and “growth.” In the word cloud feedback, terms like “excellent,” “very good,” and “host more often” appeared frequently. Many expressed a desire for more frequent events and a wider variety of activities, hoping that engaging and relatable interactions would continue to provide a warm space for emotional regulation and social connection.

The “3·20 SEU Cares” Community Mental Health Education Activities came to a warm close across the six campuses. May every student at Southeast University learn to treat themselves with kindness, nourished by the spring. May they carry this warmth and strength forward, and embrace the journey of youth with greater composure and confidence.
